The LTA has secured the first and second digital dividend encompassing the 800 MHz and 700 MHz respectively.
During the period in review, the LTA through the Engineering & Technology Department issued value 800 MHz spectrum to mobile operators to be used for Long Term Evaluation (LTE). The implementation of this technology is expected to improve the lively hood of ordinary Liberians through the delivery of mobile broadband at their homes, offices and on the go.
Due to the underutilization of UHF DTT multiplexes, the LTA has not been able to assign any DTT channel to free to air broadcasters.
Liberia still faces the uphill task of deploying DTT infrastructure that would accommodate Free to Air broadcasters. The challenge has been due to the unavailability of funds to carry out the project.
